These sweet little blankets are just the right size for a preemie. They measure about 20 inches square and the edges are hand crocheted or lace. We carry several colors in stock, but sometimes have to make them up especially for your order. The blanket color and the type of edging is your choice, but the edging color may vary. |

#10 Pastel Pattern Swaddling Blanket These blankets are just the right size for swaddling a preemie baby, but not swallowing him up in the blanket. Measuring 25" X 25", and made of a soft cotton on the front side, and a flannel on the back, they will be perfect for keeping baby warm, but not too warm when relatives come to call. There are cute little animals, butterflies, and other baby things on these blankets, which have decorative stitching. How to swaddle a preemie baby. Preemies like to lay with their hands up to their faces, like they were in the womb. When you swaddle the baby, lay him on the diagonal of the blanket. You may want to fold the top point down or leave it up. Just be sure it doesn't cover his face when you hold him. Pull the bottom up to cover his feet. Then, position his hands up to his face or chin, and pull the side of the blanket over him, and then tuck it under the baby snuggly. Pull the other side over and tuck it around the baby snuggly. He will be easy to hold this way, and will feel much more secure. |
